Foot & Ankle Surgery
When surgery is the right answer, we perform it with advanced fellowship training and a commitment to the smallest possible footprint. Every surgical patient is optimized before the procedure so the body is prepared to heal successfully.
Surgery as a Last Resort
Dr. Balkaran does not recommend surgery until conservative and regenerative options have been thoroughly exhausted. When surgery is genuinely indicated, it is performed with advanced fellowship training and a clear commitment to the least invasive approach appropriate for the condition.
Healing Optimization Before Surgery
Every surgical patient undergoes a healing optimization protocol before the procedure. This ensures the body is prepared to heal successfully and recover efficiently.
Early Weight Bearing
Minimally invasive surgical techniques allow walking the same day in a surgical shoe. Return to regular shoes typically in 3 to 6 weeks. Early weight bearing reduces muscle atrophy, supports circulation, and accelerates overall recovery.
